Day trips in the mountains around Geiranger

If you are a bit experienced and want some more challenge than just take one of the short hikes, we advice you to buy a map and take a day trip in the mountains.
Just ask in the reception and we will help you to find a nice route. Here you can see some examples:

 

Laushornet (1500 m.o.h.)

In the middle of the picture you can see the Geiranger fjord, Geirangerfjorden Feriesenter close to the fjord, and the Eagle Road.
This tour is recommended only for people who have experience with walking in Norwegian mountains.

Geitfonnegga (1500 m.o.h.)

A 180 degrees panorama picture from the top of the mountain Geitfonnegga: a fantastic view over the Geiranger fjord and the mountains surrounding it.
Laushornet (to the left) and Børå and Keipen in the middle of the picture.
To the right in the picture: The waterfall The Suitor (Friaren) down by the fjord, and all to the right, the mountain Teinnosa.
The trip from the road up to the top of Geitfonnegga takes about 3 hours each way.

 


Børå (1160 m.o.h.)

The trip to the top takes between 3 and 4 hours each way from the fjord.
